Ask the Weatherguy
Question:
In 2012, a consistent weather pattern has happen repeatedly bringing wet stormy weather from the gulf through Western Panhandle of Florida and then moves northeastward until the line has moved off the coast of Florida. This happens almost monthly now. I have been living in Florida for 55 years and I cannot remember this pattern being this predominant. What is causing this condition?
Thank you
Answer:
Hi Mike - good question and it's hard/impossible for me to provide an answer. The best I can do is say that the weather often gets "stuck in a rut", and so when a weather pattern emerges, it can sometimes be consistent for weeks or months.
Here's to better weather!
